Albane Chaumet is a French artist based in Reims, exploring playful and handcrafted approaches to animation and painting. Her colorful, naive visual worlds celebrate the poetry of everyday life, standing against the over-digitization of image-making.
Graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris nationale supérieure in 2017, she created Ododo!, a film blending live-action and animation, featuring Vimala Pons as a quirky insomniac. After several festival screenings, the film was projected in 2019 amid her handmade paper-mâché sets at La Grande Halle de la Villette for the exhibition 100% nouvelle scène artistique.
The same year, she joined the Création en Cours residency at the Ateliers Médicis, developing Les histoires à dormir debout, a series of animated drawings made with a class of CMI students over a year.
Since 2021, Albane has directed two handcut paper animation music videos supported by the CNC : Sans toi for Clément Walker (2021) and M’en aller for Fantastic Mister Zguy (2026). She has also adapted her handcrafted animation techniques to large scale video mapping shows in Lille, Amiens, Dubai, and Antigua in Guatemala.
